Father Finn!
When I was in Florida, I read a book called Percy Wynn, part of a series - a trilogy, I think - written by a Jesuit whose surname is Finn. Anyway, I was re-reading Betsy and Tacy Go Downtown a few days ago, and Tacy's dad says that "there was a set of Dickens in the house, and Shakespeare, and Father Finn...".* I was delighted to realize I knew who this was! After 30 years of reading, I finally knew who on earth Father Finn was. And yeah, the question hadn't been keeping me up at night, but it was still fun to discover Father Finn in a totally familiar context.
