the spread with the axe

I'm sorry I didn't get this question myself - though I might have found it difficult to be polite. Someone came to the library today asking for a children's version of Where the Red Fern Grows. My colleague looked for one in vain - because of course there's only one version. When I was told about this, I asked whether the person had wanted the spread with the kid being impaled by the axe - or perhaps the one with the mountain lion tearing out the dog's entrails was better? Another colleague and I came up with a lengthy list of all the moments in Where the Red Fern Grows that would make it wholly unsuitable for young children.
In fact, we decided that the book would have only three spreads: an establishing shot, a picture of Grandpa giving Billy candy, and a picture of the red fern. The SO later pointed out that one could add a spread of the dogs - but still, that's a leaflet, not a whole book.
