hockey in-jokes galore

So if you're a hockey fan, you've probably heard about Sidney Crosby handling the Prince of Wales Trophy, despite the long-running NHL superstition that so doing will jinx the team and prevent them from winning the Stanley Cup. I pointed out to the SO that it seemed as though Crosby has violated a few traditions; after all, he doesn't have much of a playoff beard. We posited that that's due to his youth - but then twigged to another reason.
Somehow, we jumped to the conclusion that he is secretly Sarah Cuthbertson. That they have the same initials is icing on the cake; I mean, if every game you play is the best you've ever played (see every Screech Owls book, except perhaps one), then being able to compete in the NHL and making it to the Cup final is the logical conclusion.

And since Crosby did go home with a Stanley Cup (at least for a day), I guess the jinx didn't hurt him. I guess anything's possible when you're secretly Sarah Cuthbertson!
